Privacy and parent choices

A family service
Parents create and manage families. Children use profiles within a family; they do not create parent accounts. Parents must be adults and have authority to provide the child’s information. Before adding a child, a parent must read the notice and record permission.
Information we use
Parent account details include name, email and sign-in information. Child profiles include a display name, avatar, optional birth year and optional PIN. We store chores, challenges, answers, rewards, stars, activity, messages and uploaded photos, video or audio to provide family features. Device sessions, TV usage and notification subscriptions support sign-in, TV controls, security and alerts. Use a nickname and avoid sensitive information that is not needed.
Who can see it
Parents in the family can review children’s activity and messages. Features may show information to other family members. Media is stored privately and served through family-authorized routes. Vercel provides hosting and media storage, Postgres stores application records, and Redis supports operational features. Notification delivery uses browser or device push services. Voice messages may be processed by our local transcription worker. Connected Google Tasks, Skylight, calendars and TV devices exchange information when you enable those features. We do not sell child information or use it for targeted advertising.
Your choices
You can review and correct profile information in the family settings. Contact samuel.taylor19@gmail.com from your parent account email to request a copy, deletion, or withdrawal of permission for further child-data collection. We verify authority before sharing or deleting family information. Do not send passwords, PINs or identity documents by email. You can deactivate a child in family settings to stop child access while a request is handled.
Retention
Deactivation, signing out or clearing a browser does not delete server records. Family messages and activity remain available until separately removed through a data request; there is currently no automatic expiry for all family records. We review deletion requests and any necessary legal or security retention separately. This policy does not authorize keeping child data indefinitely. Copies held on other devices or in backups may require separate cleanup.
Consent records and changes
We record the parent account, child profile, time, version and text of the permission given. This acknowledgement does not independently verify legal guardianship. We will explain material changes here and seek renewed permission where required. Contact us before enrolling children if you need clarification about these practices.
